Etymology of The Basic Lexemes Representing the Ingush Costume

(Ingush State University, Magas,)

The study substantiates the ontogenesis of a subset of lexemes representing duvkhar (‘costume’) in the Ingush language. Using the method of derivational analysis, the research identifies etymological processes that occurred in the language at different stages of its evolution. As a result of the word-formation analysis of the structural patterns of costume-related terms, semantic changes are revealed, associated with the transition of the highly synthetic Old Ingush language into its modern ergative form.
