Paratex in the Coordinates of Pragmatics Literary-Critical Discourse

The article is devoted to the pragmatic specificity of paratext in literary-critical discourse as a communicative space. Based on the literary-critical articles by V. Ya. Bryusov, it is proved that for the producer of literary-critical discourse establishing a dialogue with the reader, realized through paratextual components, a communicative strategy of persuasion, realized primarily by the communicative tactics of referring to authority are important. Paratext in literary-critical discourse is also characterized by the implementation of the connection between the addresser of such discourse and its addressee, but paratext also interacts and reveals various correlations of textual and extra-textual reality. Paratextual elements play an important role in text formation, and they are also capable of implementing intertextual interaction between different literary-critical texts. The pragmatics of paratext is oriented both towards the realization of the author’s own value dominants of the literary-critical text and towards the substantiation of the opinion of the producer of literary-critical discourse by the existing aesthetic tradition.
