Soviet Commemorative Stamp as a Visual Way of Reflecting Historical Processes
The article considers the Soviet commemorative stamp as a way of visualizing historical events; examines the development of philately in the context of the main stages of the political and socioeconomic life of Soviet society; illustrates the complex contradictory relationship between private collectors and the state. A micro-historical research method is used, focused on the analysis of visual historical sources.
It is concluded that the mass character and accessibility of the postage stamp makes it a concise and effective way to promote significant historical events.
