Ellipsis as the Subject оf Modern Linguistic Studies: a Cognitive-Semiotic Approach

The author of the рaper substantiates the cognitive-semiotic approach to the study of the phenomenon of ellipsis. This angle of view implies an integrative analysis of cognitive and semiotic connections between focal explicated and background elided sub-signs of an ellipted sentential sign from horizontal and vertical contexts. Thanks to this opens up the prospect of establishing universal and idio-ethnic
cognitive and semiotic patterns of elliptization.
