Uzbek Borrowings in the Turkish-Meskhetian Language
Borrowings from the Uzbek language registered in the modern language of the Meskhetian Turks are identifi ed and analyzed, and the volume of Uzbekisms is determined.
The article analyzes the interview recordings of native speakers of the Turkish-Meskhetian language living in the Astrakhan region and the lexical volume of the «Short Turkish-Meskhetian-Russian Dictionary » by V.I. Rassadin.
The work uses a set of general scientifi c (interviewing, the method of directed sampling, analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization) and linguistic methods (descriptive method, method of semantic analysis, quantitative method).
The degree of penetration of lexical units borrowed into the Turkish-Meskhetian language after the native people moved from the territory of the borrowing language and the conclusion was made about their relevance for the recipient language.
